Casey’s OT marker lifts Lumberjacks past Slammers

SUMMERSIDE – Aidan Casey scored unassisted at 1:22 of overtime to give the South Shore Lumberjacks a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Woodstock Slammers at Eastlink Arena on Wednesday afternoon.

The game was part of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) Showcase.
Mateo Short’s goal late in the third period lifted the Lumberjacks into a 2-2 tie. Christian Tsukamoto also scored for South Shore, which improved to 6-3-0-0.
Trent Brown (1-1) and Dawson Wood answered for the Slammers (3-3-3-0).
Winning goaltender was Connor McCollum, and Liam MacDonald tended goal for Woodstock.
