The trade between the two MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) teams was completed on Saturday.
The Caps also receive Yarmouth’s first-round pick along with South Shore’s in the sixth and seventh rounds draft. South Shore had acquired Yarmouth’s pick in an earlier trade. The Lumberjacks received the Valley Wildcats’ first-round pick that the Caps traded for previously, a third-round pick along with the MHL rights to Ryan O’Toole, Matt Grouchy and Jake Brien.
All picks are for the 2017 draft. In 30 regular-season games, Rawding was leading the Lumberjacks in scoring with 26 points – 14 goals and 12 assists.
