Canadian U18 team to play for gold

The Canadians defeated Sweden 4-1 in a semifinal game at the under-18 hockey tournament on Friday afternoon.
Noah Dobson of Summerside is a defenceman with Team Canada, which will face the Czech Republic in Saturday’s championship game at noon, Atlantic. The Czech Republic edged Russia 2-1 in Friday’s other semifinal.
Akil Thomas, Serron Noel, Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Aidan Dudas scored for Team Canada. Groulx (17:27) and Dudas (19:25) scored late third-period goals to break open a close game.
Team Canada goaltender Olivier Rodrigue stopped 24 of 25 shots.
