ABRAM-VILLAGE – It was a busy weekend for the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers and Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings.
The two Island Junior Hockey League teams both played two games over a three-day stretch.
The Vipers split as they dropped a 4-2 road decision to the Kent Koyotes in interlocking play with the New Brunswick Junior Hockey League on Saturday evening, and defeated the Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros 7-4 at home Sunday night.
The Red Wings dropped both interlocking games – 3-0 to the Cap-Pelé Predators on Friday night, and 7-2 versus the Moncton Vitos on Sunday night.

Vipers 8 Metros 4
At Community Gardens, Easton Smith (2), Kyle Pinksen, Logan Vandervelden, Riley Gallant, Spencer Sherren, Nathan Sanderson and Kyle MacGugian scored for the Vipers, who are 3-1-0 (won-lost-overtime losses).
Barrington Duffy, Pat McGuigan, Cale Pierce and Tanner Lund replied for the Metros (3-2-1).
The teams were tied 2-2 after the first period, but the Vipers opened up a 7-3 advantage after 40 minutes to take control.
Caelan Ferguson earned the goaltending win.

Vitos 7 Red Wings 2
At the Evangeline Recreation Centre, Alex Morrissey and Tristan Gallant found the back of the net for the Red Wings (0-4-0).
The Red Wings led 1-0 after the first period, but the Vipers took a 3-2 advantage into the second intermission.
Overall, the Red Wings outshot the Vitos 50-45. Bronson Banks tended goal for Western.
