POWNAL, P.E.I. – Zach Biggar scored the winner Tuesday as the Prince County Warriors defeated the Eastern Express 4-2 to take Game 1 of their Prince Edward Island Bantam AAA Hockey League semifinal.
Frederick Morency, Sam Hackett and Jesse Blanchard also scored in the win while Biggar, Morency and Max Chisholm had assists at the Pownal Sports Centre.
Gabe Hartlen and Avery Brown responded for the Express with Sam Worth drawing assists on both markers.
Aiden Williams earned the win while Caleb Drake took the loss.
Eastern was 0-for-1 during the game’s lone power play. The game was tied 1-1 after the first period while Prince County went to the third leading 3-1.
Game 2 of the best-of-five goes Friday at 7:30 p.m. in O’Leary.
