SLEMON PARK – The popular Atlantic Goalie Academy is returning as part of Xtreme Hockey’s summer camps here at The Plex from Aug. 25 to 29.

The Atlantic Goalie Academy has worked with many of the top goalies throughout Atlantic Canada, and just completed a successful week in Moncton as over 80 goalies attended.

Dave Kennedy, the newly-appointed goalie coach for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, will lead an experienced group of instructors.

“We offered a goalie program last winter in Summerside that sold out, and received many positive comments,” said Atlantic Hockey Group president Charlie Bourgeois. “We are very excited to have Dave and our staff coming back to Summerside this summer, and offer a great week for Island goaltenders.”

Last season, Kennedy was the goalie coach for the Atlantic University Sport women’s champions, Université de Moncton and the Pictou County Crushers of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League).

“We love the opportunity to come to Summerside and work with the Island goaltenders,” said Kennedy. “We have a very experienced group of instructors, and look forward to helping these goaltenders take their game to the next level.”

There is still limited space available for male and female goaltenders from novice-aged through midget. Participants can register at Source for Sports in Summerside, or online at For more information, call Xtreme Hockey at 888-2121.
