COLUMBUS, Ga. – Former Summerside Western Capital Alex Gallant scored his first professional hockey goal on Saturday night.

The son of Mike (Pinky) and Patricia Gallant of Summerside is playing for the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League. His unassisted goal at 4:48 of the third period gave the Cottonmouths a 4-1 lead over the Fayetteville FireAntz. Columbus went on to win the game 5-2.

Gallant, who also had two fights in the game, was selected as the third star.
