The Clippers will play their first game in almost two weeks on Friday, when they travel to the Terry Fox Sports Complex to take on the host Cornwall Timberwolves. The opening kickoff for the Papa John’s P.E.I. Varsity Tackle Football League contest is 8 p.m.
Second meeting
The Clippers, who are off to a perfect 3-0 (won-lost) start, defeated the Timberwolves (1-2) by a 46-6 score in Summerside on Sept. 16.
“Cornwall will be much improved since we last faced them in Week 1,” said Clippers head coach John Turner, who will look for Summerside’s defence to set the tone early in the game, and give the offence good field position. “We need to execute on offence, and stick to our game plan on defence.”
Last game
The Clippers last played on Sept. 25 – a 40-21 road win over the Souris Wildcats. The Clippers’ home game against the Charlottetown Privateers on Sept. 30 was postponed.
“Our guys are ready to go, and they have been working hard in practice,” said Turner. “Let’s hope they take this energy to Cornwall.”
