CHARLOTTETOWN – With the quickest win time on the program, Elm Grove Kaboom will look to capitalize on rail control in Saturday’s featured event at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The 12-dash Saturday program kicks off at 6 p.m., with the Race 12 feature fielding eight entries, and will also play host to the ongoing $100,000 Dash For Cash promotion. Two lucky patrons who spend $10 or more on a single wager will have their names drawn, and get a chance to correctly select the complete order of finish in the Saturday evening finale.

If all horses are picked in the correct order, the patron will win the $100,000 jackpot prize.
Elm Grove Kaboom vies to be on top of that ballot fresh off a 1:54.4 victory for trainer Bo Ford and owners Larry and Kathy Chappell of Marshfield. Walter Cheverie gets the catch-driving call on the majority of the Ford stable for the Saturday card, including Elm Grove Kaboom.

Tough company
Cartoon Daddy draws away from the tougher company he has been keeping this week, and gets Post 3 with Kenny Arsenault at the line for trainer Rachel Andrew. The six-year-old stallion son of Art Major was a finalist in the $25,000 Governor’s Plate final at Red Shores Summerside last month.
Weekend At Nannies will be the rookie in the field as the three-year-old son of Western Paradise finds a break from stakes’ competition, but draws Post 6 for driver Mike McGuigan. Other entries include Perfect Escape (driven by Gilles Barrieau), Old Buck (David Dowling), Diggin In (Gordie Hennessey), Tobinator (Corey MacPherson) and Winter Blast (Jason Hughes).
Sodwana Bay will put her undefeated streak to the test again Saturday in the $2,350 Fillies and Mares Open Pace in Race 9. Trained and driven by Gilles Barrieau, Sodwana Bay has won six straight races since relocating to Prince Edward Island for owners Wayne MacRae of Fall River, N.S., and Howmac Farms Ltd., of North Wiltshire.
Other top entries include Collective Wisdom (Ron Matheson) and Ramblinglily (Ken Murphy).
