CORNWALL – The P.E.I. School Athletic Association intermediate field hockey championship banner and bar will rest in the trophy case at East Wiltshire.
Maria McLane, who was named the most valuable player of the provincial championship tournament, scored the winning goal in a shootout to lift the Warriors to a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Stonepark Tigers in the gold-medal game at the Terry Fox Sports Complex.
In the bronze-medal game, the Summerside Intermediate School Owls downed Birchwood 3-0.
Brinkley Gallant tallied twice for the Owls, who also received a goal from Katie Acorn.
Chloe MacCormack provided shutout goaltending.

All-stars
All-star awards were presented to Kylie Campbell, Summerside Intermediate; Sydney Chaisson, Birchwood; Jamie MacAulay, Stonepark; Ashlyn Kelly, Stonepark; Dariah MacDougall, Queen Charlotte; Jayda Gordon, Montague, and Madison Thompson, East Wiltshire.
