The Eagles, who are competing in the AA Major Division, lost 3-1 to the Kansas City Monarchs and 6-1 to the Portland Brewers from Oregon. The game against the Monarchs is listed as not counting in the standings as the teams play in different pools.
The Eagles are listed in second place in the three-team Pool A after Day 1. Play continues on Thursday.

Brewers 6 Eagles 1
In a matchup of two Pool A teams, the Brewers erupted for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to break open a 1-1 game.
Portland opened the scoring with a single run in the bottom of the third inning, but the Eagles answered right back to tie the game in the top of the fourth.

Monarchs 3 Eagles 1
Two runs in the bottom of the fifth by the Monarchs inning proved to be the difference.
