Mooney Farms team wins agricultural funspiel

SUMMERSIDE – A total of 36 teams competed in the Dow AgroSciences and Bayer Science For a Better Life 42nd annual agricultural funspiel recently.

The teams played three games under a point system during the two-day event, held at the Silver Fox in Summerside.
Team Klondike Farms Ltd., with skip Mark Waugh, third stone Adam Hogg, second stone Bradley Hogg, lead Josh Cameron and spare John Hogg, ended with the highest point total of 74.
They were followed by the Mooney Farms team of skip Merlin Mooney, third stone David Mooney, second stone Boyd MacDonald and lead Barb MacDonald, which accumulated 72 points.
The Mooney Farms team then defeated Team Klondike Farms Ltd., in the A event final to earn the right to have its name engraved on the 42-year-old championship trophy.
