CHARLOTTETOWN – The Kensington Crusaders won the Tier 1 Division in the recent Volleyball P.E.I. 18-Under Girls Spring League tournament.

 

The Crusaders captured first place with a 5-0 (won-lost) record, and rebounded to claim the No. 1 spot after a fourth-place finish in the previous tournament.
The Rural Raiders Team One finished second for the second week in a row on the strength of a 4-1 record. Three teams posted 2-3 marks, which resulted in a tiebreaking formula that placed the Central Colonels Gray and White teams in third and fourth places. The Red Mudd team moved to fifth place. The Kinkora Blazers (0-5) will move to Tier 2 play this week.
In Tier 2 competition, the Raiders Red and Summerside Team One Suns finished 4-1, and will jump to this week’s Tier 1 tournament. The West Prince Islanders (3-2) finished third. The Evangeline Coyotes (2-3), Red Mudd Black (1-4) and Summerside Team Two Suns (1-4) finishing fourth through sixth in Tier 2.
