TIGNISH – It was a big weekend for the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces.
The Aces won back-to-back games in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League, outlasting the North River Flames 7-5 on Saturday night, and doubling Southside Lynx 4-2 on Sunday evening.
The results leave the Aces with a record of 4-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses).

At the Tignish Credit Union Arena, the Aces built period leads of 1-0 and 3-1.
Dawson Sellick scored twice to lead the Aces while Drake Smallman (1-1) and Brandon Forsythe added singles. Truman Ellsworth, Brayden Handrahan and Brydon Smith chipped in with single helpers.
Brady VanderVelden netted both goals for the Lynx (5-3-0).
Andrew Gallant earned the goaltending win, and Sean MacPhee was between the pipes for Southside.

At the APM Centre in Cornwall, the Aces struck for five second-period goals to erase a 2-0 North River lead after one period, and take a 5-3 advantage into the dressing room after 40 minutes.
Forsythe (2), Brayden Arsenault (1-2), Sellick (1-1), Will Tuplin, Jordan Arthur and Colton Chaisson added single goals while Matthew Bowness (3), Chase McCue (2), Lexin Gaudet and Keaton Horne were credited with assists.
Connor Andrews had three goals and an assist to lead the Flames (4-4-0). Zack Wight (1-1) and Brandon Watts rounded out North River’s scoring. Keirsten Steele (2), Spencer Beaton (2), Alex Young and Logan Aylward earned assists.
Winning goaltender was Kristen Clements.
