CORNWALL – It was a busy Friday night in Cornwall as the Mid-Isle Wildcats hosted the Central Storm in P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League action.
The evening also featured generous Storm and Wildcats’ fan support for the annual Toys for Tots Christmas campaign, with many gifts being donated to this worthwhile cause.
The North River Nightmares’ atom female team also attended the Wildcats’ 2-1 victory at the APM Centre as part of the Cats Give Back program.
The Nightmares’ Allie Bowers dropped the puck for the ceremonial faceoff. The Nightmares were very enthusiastic fans, and enjoyed special seating, a pizza party, a tour of the Wildcats’ dressing room and had the opportunity to meet the Mid-Isle players.

Scoring
Rory Aiken of the Storm opened the scoring unassisted at 12:50 of the first period on a shot from the point.
The Wildcats evened the score with 35 seconds left in the first period on a goal by ShaeLynn McCardle, assisted by Sophie Flynn.
Makayla Larsen put the Wildcats ahead to stay at 12:29 of the second period on a power-play goal. Madeline Hamill and Lexie Murphy set up the game-winning tally.
Hannah LeClair was between the pipes for the Wildcats, while Julie Hall tended goal for the Storm.
Each team was assessed four minor penalties in the game.
