CRAPAUD – Ryan Beckingham and Koby Bridges played key roles for the Southside Lynx on Saturday night.
Beckingham scored the only goal of the shootout while Bridges was perfect on all three attempts by the North River Flames as the Lynx pulled out an exciting 5-4 win at the South Shore Actiplex.
Morgan Darbyson (1-1), Beckingham, Tyler Jurkowski and Kyle MacGuigan scored in regulation time for Southside, which took a 6-3-0 (won-lost-overtime losses) into Sunday night’s road game against Georgetown (1-6-1). Seven players – Frank Watts, Riley Payne, Tyson Beckingham, Tyson Gillis, Nick VanderVelden, Brady VanderVelden and Cameron Nelson – were credited with single assists.
Connor Andrews (2), Spencer Beaton and Bobby Jamieson answered for the Flames (4-5-1). Ethan MacFadyen (3) and Keirsten Steele collected helpers.
The Lynx led 3-2 after the opening period, and took a 4-3 advantage into the second intermission.
Overall, during regulation time and overtime, Bridges turned aside 37 of 41 shots while the Flames’ Jed Walsh made 36 saves on 40 tests.
