UPDATED: Quebec beats P.E.I. to complete round robin undefeated

SUMMERSIDE – Quebec will enter the playoff round at the only undefeated team in 2017 Ray Carter Cup.

Quebec defeated P.E.I. 11-1 in a six-inning late-morning start Saturday to complete round-robin play a perfect 4-0 (won-lost). P.E.I., which was coming off a 2-1 walk-off win over Ontario on Friday night, is 1-3 at Baseball Canada’s national 15-under championship.
In another late-morning start, Manitoba defeated Nova Scotia 8-3 for its first win in four games. Nova Scotia dropped its second straight after a 2-0 start.

First loss
In early-morning action Saturday, Newfoundland and Labrador handed Saskatchewan its first loss – an 11-10 extra-inning win to improve to 2-1 in Pool B. Saskatchewan is now 3-1.
New Brunswick blanked British Columbia 8-0. The win moved New Brunswick into second place in Pool A at 2-1 while British Columbia completed round-robin play 1-3.
Round-robin play continues throughout the day at Queen Elizabeth Park in Summerside. The playoff round is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., with the second-place team in Pool B meeting the third-place team in Pool A.
