SABA hosting 10-team peewee AA tournament

SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Area Baseball Association will host the first of 10 tournaments this summer this weekend.
A total of 10 teams will compete in a three-day peewee AA event, which is sponsored by Dixie Lee Family Restaurant in Summerside. Games will be played at Queen Elizabeth Park and Slemon Park.
Play begins on Friday at 5 p.m., and the host Summerside Chevys open against the Kentville Wildcats on the Gordie Arsenault Field at 7:45 p.m.
Play goes all day Saturday, with games beginning at 9 a.m., and the final game of the day scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
The semifinals, featuring the first-place team taking on the fourth-place team and the second- and third-place teams clashing, go Sunday at 10 a.m. The championship game on the Very Important Volunteer (VIV) Field follows at 1 p.m.
