SUMMERSIDE – There is a strong representation of Prince County players on three P.E.I. teams competing at Baseball Canada national championships this week.
In Bedford, N.S., Selena Ford of Summerside, Hannah LeClair of Kensington, Claire Keough of Cape Traverse and Emily Albert of Kensington are members of Team P.E.I. at the 16-under girls invitational championship.
P.E.I.’s only game of Day 1 is against New Brunswick on Thursday at 9 a.m.

Ray Carter Cup
At the Ray Carter Cup in Oshawa, Ont., seven Prince County players will suit up for Team P.E.I. They are Michael MacRae, Tignish; Owen Lynch, Summerside; Jacob Dunn, Summerside; Garrett Culleton, Ellerslie; Connor Ellsworth, Tignish; Landon Gallant, Summerside, and Carson MacKay, Kensington.
P.E.I. faces a tough opening day on Thursday against perennial powerhouses Quebec and British Columbia.

13-under
Three players from the Summerside Area Baseball Association (SABA) – Bennett Gallant, Caleb Gallant and Tyson Wedge – have been selected for Team P.E.I. at the Dairy Queen 13-under championship in Woodstock, Ont.
P.E.I. opens with two games on Thursday against Quebec Grey and Ontario.
All three championships are scheduled to conclude on Sunday.
