CHARLOTTETOWN – The P.E.I. Youth Selects split a pair of games in the Kings County Baseball League at Memorial Field recently.
The Selects lost the opening 11-0 to the Cardigan Clippers, but bounced back to pull out a 9-8 victory over Stratford in Game 2.

Clippers 11 Selects 0
Quinn Hughes pitched a no-hitter to lead the Clippers.
Sam Walsh, who had two singles and a pair of walks, was Cardigan’s top batter.
Josh Myers was tagged with the loss.
Garrett Hebert made two highlight-reel catches in centre field for the Selects.

Selects 9 Stratford 8
The Selects pulled off a come-from-behind victory on a Chase Gaudette single that scored Dylon Worth with the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Gaudette also connected for a triple to lead the Selects offensively.
Duncan Picketts cashed in two runs lining an opposite-field single to tie the game for the Selects.
Dan O’Shea and Dominique Ryan each had two hits to pace Stratford’s attack.
Gabe Penalver picked up the pitching win in relief of Nick Havenga. Ron Dr la Cruz suffered the loss.
