Montgomery, a member of the UNB Cougars, was the only player from Atlantic Canada to be named to the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association National All-Tournament Team at the national championship.

A third-year engineering student, Montgomery batted an impressive .714 in eight plate appearances, and reached base six times.

A versatile infielder, Montgomery received the award as top first baseman, and he also plays third base and catches.

UNB lost to Saint Mary’s University in a tiebreaker at Trudeau Park in Montreal on Sunday morning, and finished fifth in the tournament.
