Liam Greenan played a key role in the Summerside Team Two Chevys’ 15-5 win over the Charlottetown Royals on Tuesday night. The two teams clashed in a P.E.I. Bantam AA Baseball League game at Queen Elizabeth Park’s Legends Field.

The Chevys defeated the Charlottetown Royals 15-5 at Queen Elizabeth Park’s Legends Field. The loss dropped the Royals to fourth place behind third-place Stratford. The Summerside Team One Chevys hold down top spot in the league standings.
The Royals counted three runs in the top of the first inning to get off to a strong start, but the Chevys answered with seven runs of their own, and would never trail again.
Jackson MacDougall and Liam Greenan each went 2-for-3, with a double, while Nic Gunning tripled in two at-bats and drew a pair of walks to spark the Chevys’ attack. Hannah LeClair, Cameron Murray and Jayden Hogg recorded the other Summerside hits.
Hogg, who earned the pitching victory, would push across the clinching run with a hard-earned walk in the home half of the fifth inning.
Fin Carragher (2-2, walk), J.D. Clark (2-3) and Zach Hammill (2-3) paced the Royals at the plate.
Clark was the pitcher of record of record for Charlottetown.
The Chevys will wrap up the regular-season schedule against the Cornwall Cougars at Legends Field on Tuesday, Aug. 15. First pitch is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
