London breaks open close game vs. P.E.I.

LONDON, Ont. – The host London Badgers broke open a close game with Team P.E.I. late.

Baseball P.E.I.

The Badgers scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to open up a 6-2 lead en route to a 7-3 win in a round-robin game at the 2017 Canadian 18-under male baseball championship.
P.E.I. will take a 1-1 (won-lost) record into Friday evening’s game against Saskatchewan. The Island squad will then close out the round robin with games against Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador on Saturday.
Against London, Ben MacDougall, Connor Jones and Matt Jabbour shared the pitching duties for P.E.I.
Logan MacDougall, who had a 2-for-3 summary, including a run scored, was P.E.I.’s top hitter. Jayden MacLean and Liam Laybolt were credited with runs batted in for P.E.I., which defeated Manitoba 6-2 on Thursday.
