CHARLOTTETOWN – The Sherwood Knights scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to complete a come-from-behind win over the Souris Slammers in P.E.I. Midget A Baseball League action under the lights at Memorial Field in Charlottetown recently.
It was the first game of the season for each team.
Ben Collings-MacKay beat a play at the plate following Colin Blanchard's two-out infield single to score the winning run.
Knights starter Ethan Murphy went four innings before giving way to Isiah Dean, who picked up the win. Riley Roche, in relief of starter Randy Antle, took the loss.
Murphy (1-3, two RBI) and Mathew Hunter (1-2) were the top batters for Sherwood.
Brett Robertson (2-2), Roche (2-3) and Antle (2-3) all had multiple-hit games for Souris.
