Dickson tosses two-hitter

CHATHAM, N.B. – Ronnie Dickson pitched a gem for the Chatham Ironmen on Thursday night.

Dickson fired a two-hitter, walked just one batter and struck out seven in leading the Ironmen to a 3-0 victory over the visiting Charlottetown Islanders in New Brunswick Senior Baseball League play.
Grant Grady and Taylor Larkin recorded the Islanders’ hits while Jesse MacIntyre drew the free pass.
The Ironmen, led by Orry Cook’s 4-for-4 batting summary, scored single runs in the first, third and sixth innings. Cook also scored a run and drove in one while Jeff Watkin had a 2-for-3 summary, with a home run.
Jacob Beck went the distance on the hill for the Islanders. His line read three earned runs, nine hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
The Ironmen improved to 14-9 (won-lost) while the Islanders dropped to 8-17.
Charlottetown hosts the Fredericton Royals in a doubleheader at Memorial Field on Saturday. The first game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
