PRINCE ALBERT, SASK. – Riley Manion threw a no-hitter Sunday night as Team Canada improved to 2-0 at the World Baseball Softball Confederation junior men’s softball world championship.

Canada, which includes Tignish outfielder Dawson Sellick, head coach Jeff Ellsworth, a Dock resident, and assistant coach Mark Quinn of Cardigan, defeated the Czech Republic 6-1 in Prince Albert, Sask. Canada scored single runs in the first and third innings, allowed one in the bottom of the fourth before adding four in the top of the sixth.

Manion allowed an earned run on four walks while striking out 15.

Designated player Brady Hogg was 2-for-3 with three RBI while catcher Brendan Hagerman was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sellick played left field and was 0-for-3.

Canada plays Guatemala (1-1) tonight at 11 p.m. Atlantic.
