SUMMERSIDE – Two Summerside schools will play in the gold-medal games of the P.E.I. School Athletic Association intermediate AA basketball championships.
Those contests will take place at Summerside Intermediate School (SIS) on Tuesday.
The host SIS Owls will meet Stonepark Intermediate in the girls’ final at 5 p.m., followed by the boys’ title match between Summerside’s Athena Hawks and East Wiltshire Warriors at 7 p.m.
The bronze-medal games will take place earlier in the day featuring the Birchwood and Queen Charlotte girls meeting at 1 p.m., and the boys’ third-place game will have Queen Charlotte and SIS meeting at 3 p.m.

Boys
Athena 60

Spencer Rossiter poured in a game-high 25 points to lead the Hawks, who opened up a 33-11 lead at halftime.
Jeremy Norman had a big game for Queen Charlotte as he sank 24.
East Wiltshire 65
Summerside Intermediate 38
East Wiltshire led 28-18 at halftime, before pulling away in the final two quarters.
Thomas Yeo’s 17-point effort led East Wiltshire’s attack. Ethan Haakman had 15 for the Owls.

Katie Vidito had 16 points to pace Stonepark, which held a 27-22 advantage at the half.
Sydney Strain contributed 21 points for Queen Charlotte

Summerside Intermediate played tough defence as they took a 19-6 advantage into the intermission.
Offensively, Lea Johnston scored 13 points to lead the Owls. Amy Plaggenhoef had nine points to lead Birchwood.
