The Atlantic Sires Stakes for the three-year-old pacing fillies are featured at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway on Friday.
There’s an early post time of 6:30 p.m.
The fillies are split into a pair of A divisions and three B classes on the 12-dash program.

A fillies
The first $13,040 A filly stake has the red-hot R E’s Shabla on the outside looking in behind the starting gate. Post 8 is always an obstacle to overcome. This filly has six wins already this year, and just under $20,000 in the bank, not to mention a race record of 1:56.1.
Darren Crowe’s Chocolate Terror is the second choice in the morning line. This filly is winless this year in six attempts. She has been a bridesmaid on three occasions, and shows a couple of trips in 1:57 and change.
Maybeitsmaybelline rounds out the classifier’s choice. She will have to overcome an outside post also in this rich race. The two-time winner gets Adam Merner in the sulky for the first time.

Second A stake
The undefeated Royaltywestho will be the chalk favorite when the starter releases the second division of the ‘A’ fillies. The Joseph Baxter-trained and Walter Cheverie-driven daughter of Westwardho Hanover has captured five Maritime stakes from five starts in 2018. She has a record of 1:57.1, and has early seasonal earnings of $24,000.
The current queen of Kensington is Woodmere Wyldstyle, and she will attempt to snap her rival’s winning streak. The four horsemen of this filly’s Kensington ownership group has finished second twice to Royaltywestho. On one occasion Wyldstyle made a break, and was only beaten by a length by the undefeated filly.
Elm Grove Misty is listed in the top three by race secretary Gerard Smith. Misty had a banner two-year-old campaign, winning over $25,000 in purse money. She’s winless this year, but showed improvement in her last race, pacing in 1:57.4.

B fillies
Izzies Angel is the overwhelming choice in this opening B stake, but there’s been a problem – this filly has fell to the racetrack in both of her last two races. To be fair to this filly, the bit broke in her Inverness start, and when she made a break here on Sunday she was in very tight quarters. The four-time winner this year has a race record of 1:58.4.
Gigolo’s Rose is the 5-to-2 choice in the second B Division for the Blue Knight, Jason Hughes. This filly is rounding into form with some good closing quarters in her last two races.
The final B stake features the high-priced yearling Woodmere Saphire. She hasn’t been to the winner’s circle in 2018, but shows strong last quarters. With the Maritime Magic Man, Gilles Barrieau, driving, that might be enough to break through.
Governor’s Plate Week concludes on Saturday night, highlighted by the golden anniversary of this prestigious race. The glamour boys – three-year-old colts – are also featured on Saturday’s program.
