O’Leary squirt girls win Moncton tournament

MONCTON, N.B. – It was an undefeated showing for the O’Leary under-12 girls’ softball team here recently.

O’Leary went 2-0-1 (won-lost-tied) – and returned home as champions of the Amanda Flanigan Memorial softball tournament.

After winning two and tying one game in the round robin, O’Leary pulled out a 3-1 decision over the Cole Harbour Comets in the gold-medal game.

Ally Hustler, who was named the championship game’s most valuable player, earned the pitching win in the gold-medal game.

Marley Gaudet led O’Leary offensively, going 2-for-2 at the plate while other top batters were Abby Hustler (1-1), Ally Hustler (1-2) and Belle Ashley (1-2).

Round robin

In round-robin play, O’Leary tied Moncton 5-5 and defeated the West Royalty Extreme Heat 12-0 and the West Royalty Killer Beez 15-0.
