Final appearance of Eastern Mini-Cup Series at Oyster Bed Speedway

OYSTER BED BRIDGE – The final appearance of the Eastern Mini-Cup Series will be featured at Oyster Bed Speedway on Saturday.

This will feature the final appearance of the Eastern Mini-Cup Series.

The scale model NASCAR replicas will be part of the full card of racing, which also features all four local classes. P.E.I.’s Amanda Wheatley will be looking for the complete sweep of all three Mini-Cup features this season on P.E.I.

Last Saturday, Emmett Donahue had one of his best nights at the oval in his storied career, sweeping all three races in the Street Stock Division.

Division rookie Glenn Hynes picked up his first Street Stock Division win in his opening heat, before engine troubles affected his performance for the rest of the evening. Nick Chaisson will also be looking to gain some momentum on his race win from last Saturday as he tries to catch division leader Mark MacLean.

Defending-champion Kris Fournier bounced back with a triple win of his own in the Late Model Division. Fournier will be looking to make a late-season push to catch leader Robbie MacEwen for the points lead.

Matt Palmer picked up a win, and Paul Montgomery also grabbed his first career win in the division.

Kendall Palmer was the third driver on the night with a triple win. The Outlaw Division driver also catapulted himself in the points lead.

The Mini Four Fun Division had five different winners on the night, with Jason Baglole taking the feature win, and Jillian Gregory picked up her first win.

All the action gets underway at 7 p.m.
