ANTIGONISH, N.S. – Darren MacKinnon of Milton Station was the top Prince Edward Island driver in the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour’s IWK 250 here at Riverside International Speedway on Saturday night.

MacKinnon finished sixth overall in the 29-car field. A total of six drivers from P.E.I. took part, including Springvale’s Greg Proude (12th); Albany’s Terry Dougay (18th); Crapaud’s Kent Vincent (22nd); Winsloe’s Robbie MacLean (26th), and Cornwall’s Dylan Gosbee (27th).

John Flemming of Halifax, N.S., picked up his second IWK 250 victory after besting Donald Chisholm of Antigonish, N.S., on a restart with three laps remaining in the race.

Prior to the IWK 250 feature, a moving tribute was paid to track owner John Chisholm, who passed away on July 4 at age 68. Chisholm opened Riverside International Speedway in 1969, and was also responsible for the rebuild in 2006.

The tour’s next event is at Oyster Bed Speedway on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 6 p.m.
