Bikers from across North America will be Summerside and Kensington, too, in 2014 for the eighth annual Atlanticade Motorcycle Festival.
The festival opens at noon on that day with the official opening to take place around 6 p.m. and then followed by a Victory party inside the big tent going from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. that evening.
There will a number of door prizes drawn during the evening, live entertainment provided by the group Browns Avenue, and Victory motorcycles on display both inside the tent and outside on the festival grounds at Credit Union Place.
“Charlie Arsenault is the owner of Advance Motorsports and also the lead singer with the group Browns Avenue, so I am sure he will have the band rocking at their best,” said festival chairman Dale Hicks.
For the first time the festival grounds will have a huge tent on site to house live entertainment, food, refreshments and bike displays. The official opening will take place inside the tent followed immediately after by the Victory party.
“This will provide more of a festival atmosphere at our headquarters site and also be a huge benefit should the weather decide not to cooperate,” Hicks said. “With our shuttle service participants will be able to take full advantage of the social activities and not have to worry about getting back on their bike.”
Hicks is planning to have a special activity in the tent each of the four nights and is excited Victory, in cooperation with their regional dealership, has come forward to kick things off on opening night.
Canada’s original five-day motorcycle festival is expected to attract participants from across North America and will take place in Summerside from June 27 to July 1. For more information on the festival go to www.atlanticade.ca
