A Maritime Electric truck navigates the cuttings as a utility crew responds to power outages in West Prince caused by Monday's ice storm.
ALBERTON -- The number of Maritime Electric customers still without electricity from Monday’s ice storm had been trimmed to approximately 1,100 by 2:30 p.m. today.
The utility’s spokesperson, Kim Griffin, said crews are reviewing the reviewing the affected areas and plan to have as many customers as possible restored by tonight. She noted there are many individual outages to address. Most of the remaining outages are in West Prince, and most of the utility’s 24 crews are working in that region today.
