SUMMERSIDE — The time to vote for the Summerside Boys and Girls Club’s entry in the running for Aviva Community Fund competition is drawing to a close.

Club members Madelyn Case (left) and Sydney Cameron (right), along with employee Matt Pauptit are looking for your vote in the semi-final round of the Aviva Community Fund competition. Voting started Monday and goes until Dec. 11.

The club’s Youth Engagement Centre for at risk youth is competing in the semi-final round for $90,000 in the large, youth-at-risk category.

The money would be used to renovate a building recently purchased on Notre Dame Street, adjacent to the club’s long-standing home. That building, even without the Aviva money, will be turned into a Youth Engagement Centre — a place for youth aged 13 to 19 to go, learn life skills and, for some, keep them out of trouble.

Voting in the semi-final round closed on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

As of 1 p.m. Monday, the club’s Youth Engagement Centre project had 8,973 votes.

To vote, visit www.avivacommunityfund.org. Register with your email address, find the Boys and Girls clubs idea, which is numbered 16945, and vote once a day.

You can register with other email addresses as well register and vote through Facebook and Twitter. Voting ends on Dec. 11.
