final session Saturday
SUMMERSIDE – "Riding a bicycle is all about balance," says Ken Trenholm, ‘The Bicycle Whisperer’.
Alayna Trenholm shows her excitement of learning to ride on two wheels. Ken Trenholm, 'The Bicycle Whisperer,' will conduct his final Learn How to Ride a Two-Wheeler session of the season this Saturday at Greenfield Elementary from 1 to 4 p.m.
Since 2009 Trenholm has been using a new method to teach kids how to ride a two-wheeled cycle.
“The best way to learn how to ride two wheels is ironically not to use pedals," he insists.
Trenholm’s final Learn How to Ride a Two-Wheeler session of the season is set for this Saturday, Nov. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Greenfield Elementary in Summerside. The "no pedals" rule is just one of seven steps he uses when teaching children and adults to ride two wheels.
Trenholm says he has taught more than 100 local kids how to ride using his ‘balance first – pedals second’ approach. An avid cyclist, he says he is interested in reaching more children, and encouraging an active lifestyle.
The Bicycle Whisperer, as a group of parents at Dreams Unlimited Childcare Centre where he works calls him, warms he is anything but whispering when he gets excited about when a child starts experiencing fun and success on two wheels.
He invites children and adults to experience his “balance first” approach this Saturday.
