LETTER: Snow removal just fine

 ..
..

I recently read on the CBC website about Summerside being asked for an explanation on their snow removal. Seriously? Why does the city have to justify this? As long as the job is getting done why does it matter to anybody how we remove it or what we do with the snow?

Personally, I think they do an efficient job and in a timely and safe manner. I live on a corner lot and did complain a few years back that my small front yard was collecting way too much snow and I was concerned with children climbing on it and sliding on to the road. The city listened and are not piling the snow as high and more goes in to my backyard where there is more room. We are lucky to have such great plow operators.

In some cities the roads are terribly neglected or barely done at all. If we ever get to that point then we have every right to ask: Who? What? When? Where? And why? Until then we should be grateful these guys are willing to work tireless hours to keep our city clean.
