Sophie M. Gaudet

The death occurred peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton surrounded by family on Tuesday May 15, 2018 of Sophie M. Gaudet formerly of St. Peter & St. Paul aged 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Guillaume Gaudet. She was born in Harper Road on July 6, 1921, and the last surviving member of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Poirier) Doucette. Cherished mother to Gloria Ellsworth, St. Peter & St. Paul, Vincent Gaudet (Amy), Miscouche, Stephen Gaudet (Joanne), Miscouche, Michael Gaudet (Gracie), St. Peter & St. Paul, Paul Gaudet (Susan), St. Peter & St. Paul, Jacinta Wallace (Colin), Moncton, Janine Richard (Willie), St. Edward, Krista Ellsworth (Dale), Piusville. She is also survived by son-in-law Bernie Perry, Peterville, Elaine Gaudet, Alberton, sister-in-law Stella Gaudet, Tignish and special niece Mae Bernard (Alyre), Tignish and many nieces and nephews. Loving grandmother of 21 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. She was predeceased by parents Joseph and Beatrice, husband Guillaume, daughter Bernadette and son-in-law Ivan, daughter Marcella, son Patrick and grandchild Dryden. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held Friday May 18, 2018 at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 3 p.m. Memorial donations to Fr. Roy Shea Mission Fund or St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery Fund. Tignish CWL will hold a prayer service Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in the church cemetery.
