The death occurred peacefully at the Community Hospital, O'Leary, on Sunday, September 23, 2018, of Mae Melanie Bernard, beloved wife of 70 years to Alyre J. Bernard of Tignish Seniors Coop Home age 94 years. Born at Peterville, P.E.I., on July 31, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Willaim J. and Olive (nee Doucette) Perry. Loving mother to Sharon (Don) Boudreault. Loving grandmother to Adam (Keshia) Boudreault, Ryan (Peggy) Arsenault, Randy (Lesley) Arsenault and Rodney Arsenault. Dear sister to Marcella Bernard and Bill (Anne Marie) Perry. She is also great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters, Anne Arsenault in 1993 and Sandra Bernard in 2016, grandson, Scott Boudreault in 1995, and by siblings, Aurella Gaudet, Margaret Perry, Imelda Perry, Marlene Gallant, Arthur Perry. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and by her many friends. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to Community Inclusions (Tignish Workshop) or to St. Simon and St. Jude Building Fund would be gratefully appreciated. Members from the Tignish Council of the CWL and members from the Tignish Branch #6 Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary will hold prayers for their departed member Tuesday evening at 5:45 p.m. www.rooneyfh.ca
