Anne-Marie Antoinette (Maddix) Bernard

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Antoinette Bernard aged 85 years, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday, March 18, 2018 of Le Chez-Nous, Wellington. Born in St. Gilbert on January 27, 1933 daughter of the late William and Exeline (nee Arsenault) Maddix. Beloved wife of the late Henry Joseph Bernard and loving mother to Richard (Tracy) Bernard, Miscouche, Francine (Douglas) MacArthur, Richmond, John (Karen) Bernard, Summerside and Edward (Dr. Frances) Bernard, Boston. Antoinette was a loving grandmother to Jennifer (Sebastien), Tyler, Katherine (Craig), Suzanne, Jonathan (Max), Rachelle (Stuart) and Malcolm and she will be forever remembered by her sister Loretta (Ned) DesRoches and brother Martin (the late Shirly) Maddix. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, brothers James and Léo, sister Clara, brothers-in-law Wilf Bruhm and Peter Arsenault and sister-in-law Mae Maddix. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville until Friday March 23, then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place in the Church cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations in her memory to Le Chez-Nous Ltd., the Prince County Hospital, Summerside or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. She was a member of a retired teachers group. Due to severe allergies of some family members, please refrain from wearing scents or perfumes during the visiting hours or funeral service.
