A Summerside man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted another man with a knife.
Summerside Police Services said that just before 9 p.m. on Feb. 8, a 24-year-old man walked into the police station to report that he’d been stabbed in the hand and shoulder during a fight with a 31-year-old Summerside man.
The complainant said he had gone with a female acquaintance to a Heckbert Street home to pick up her child from the father.
During the pick up the two men got into a fight, which ended with the complainant receiving minor knife wounds to his hand and shoulder.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the complaint was made and was held until his court appearance today.
He is facing charges of assault with weapon, assault, uttering threats, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and mischief.
