Morell-Mermaid MLA Sidney MacEwen wants to see the province encourage some creative solutions to address the youth housing crisis.

MacEwen asked during Wednesday’s question period if the province would promote adaptive re-use of older buildings, inclusionary zoning and revolving loan funds to address the issue.

MacEwen noted all three were recommendations made in an affordable housing report compiled by Charlottetown’s youth retention advisory board.

Communities Minister Richard Brown described the report as excellent said his department would be following up with the city on housing initiatives.
