SYDNEY, N.S. — A Millbrook man facing two sex charges that are alleged to have originated on P.E.I. has asked for the charges be transferred to Port Hawkesbury.

Michael Andrew Marshall, 30, is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. The offences are alleged to have occurred July 2 at Cavendish.

The matter was initially before the courts in Charlottetown before being transferred to the Nova Scotia court.

Marshall made a brief court appearance Tuesday in Sydney and requested the case be moved to Port Hawkesbury.

Marshall is now scheduled to appear in provincial court there on Dec. 20.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story said the assault took place at a music festival, but the court files merely say Cavendish.
