SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – A man is in Prince County Hospital after suffering a head injury during an assault that occurred in a Water Street parking lot around 11 p.m. on Aug. 8.
Summerside Police Services stated the 23-year-old victim had been involved in a verbal dispute with the occupants of a vehicle that had pulled into the parking lot. One of the passengers exited the vehicle and assaulted the victim.
Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Cole Edward Hearn who was arrested Thursday evening.
Hearn was remanded into custody Friday morning and faces one count of assault causing bodily harm.
The full extent of the victim’s injuries is still unknown but are not believed to be life threatening, according to police.
