According to a press release from the Summerside police, the driver of a truck with a New Brunswick licence plate struck a parked car and then drove away.

Shortly after, officers arrived on scene and located the New Brunswick vehicle close to where the hit and run occurred. Police then learned that the vehicle was reported stolen the day before in the Moncton area.

The female driver provided a false name at the time of her arrest to the police. She then provided a second identity, which was also proven to be false.

The woman now faces charges of possession of stolen property and obstruction related offences.

She still has not provided her true identity.

Several pieces of identification belonging to other women from the Quebec area were also found in her possession. The investigation continues as police track down these women.

The woman remains in custody.

Police are continuing the investigation to determine her identity.
