A winter storm watch has been issued across Prince Edward Island for Friday and Saturday.
In excess of 15 centimetres of snow and strong winds are likely to begin Friday night and into Saturday, says Environment Canada.
A low-pressure system will approach from the south on Friday and move into the Gulf of St. Lawrence on Saturday.

Snow, at times heavy, is forecast to develop over P.E.I. late Friday afternoon and persist into the night and on Saturday. Strong winds are also expected to develop, which may combine with fresh snowfall to produce near-zero visibility in blowing snow Friday evening into Saturday.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Environment Canada advises to avoid travelling if possible.
