WEATHER: THURSDAY, DEC. 14: Intense windchill this morning

Environment Canada is calling for a mix of possible flurries with a chance of sun but below zero temperatures with strong winds are giving a biting cold wind chill.

With early morning temperatures around –7C and strong southwest winds gusting to around 60 kilometers per hour, the feel-like temperatures early today are around –17.

The Confederation Bridge today is currently open to all traffic but Northumberland Ferries has canceled crossings today until further notice.

All flights, however, arriving to and departing from Charlottetown Airport are showing to be on time.

On P.E.I. today, early morning temperatures ranged from a high of –3.5 at East Point, to a low of -8.4 in Maple Plains.

    TEMPERATURE: Rising slowly to reach 0 very briefly late this afternoon.

    WIND: Southwest gusting to 70, becoming west gusting to 50 this afternoon.
