"We want to invite everyone in the community to come visit historic St. Mary's, especially if you have never been to the venue before," said Don Quarles, Executive Director. "I guarantee that once you come see the space and experience the location and incredible acoustics, you will be sure to return.”

St. Mary’s is the largest wooden church in the province, constructed between 1900 and 1902. The space is admired for its architectural and acoustic details, including the recognizable dominant 128-foot circular tower on the southwest corner decorated with statues of the 12 apostles.

The church was designed by well-known and accomplished architect William Critchlow Harris in the French Gothic style, and is considered the highlight of his work.

"We want everyone to think of this venue, which overlooks beautiful Malpeque Bay, as a great place to not only come and enjoy great music, but to think of historic St. Mary's for their next event, reception, family reunion,” commented Quarles.

The sound of music, dance, theatre and stories will take the stage in St. Mary's Church for the Indian River Festival, all summer-long.

Island food, hospitality, and a few surprises will be in store when the doors open to the public on Fri., June 9 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
