The arrests come as the result of an on-going joint investigation by the Major Crime Unit of the Summerside Police and the RCMP.
The accused are alleged to be involved in two separate robberies that occurred in December 2015 and March of this year.
The first man, a 38-year-old, originally from the Charlottetown area, faces two counts of robbery, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of unlawful confinement, one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.
The second, a 35-year-old Summerside resident, is facing charges of robbery, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and unlawful confinement.
The third, a 34-year-old Summerside man is facing a single count of robbery.
The robberies were both home invasion-type robberies and all parties involved were known to each other.
“These were not random incidents,” a police spokesman said in a release Friday.
All three accused were jailed overnight and appeared before a Justice of the Peace Friday afternoon. All were remanded until Tuesday morning.
Police say the investigation into the activities of the three accused is continuing and more charges may follow.
