Teen discovers thief inside her Summerside home

Police investigate break-in at city residence

SUMMERSIDE – Summerside Police Services are investigating a break and enter into a Maple Grove residence.

On Wednesday, shortly before 4 p.m., police received a call from a man reporting that his teenage daughter had come home from school and found a person inside the residence.

The suspect stole some electronics and then fled.

Police were assisted by an RCMP K-9 unit, which was able to locate the stolen electronics not far from the residence.

Police have spoken to a number of witnesses and have identified a person of interest who police are attempting to locate.

The young woman, who interrupted the suspect during the incident, was not injured.
