Summerside Police officers charged two people with impaired driving this weekend.

A 34-year-old man from the Miscouche area was charged on Friday and a 24-year-old West Prince area woman was charged on Sunday.

The first incident happened at about 10 p.m. when police noticed the suspect’s vehicle travelling the wrong way down a one-way section of First Street.

The second vehicle was stopped at about 12:30 a.m. when police spotted a vehicle on Duke Street driving with no tail lights on.

Both drivers later provided breath samples in excess of the legal limit.

Both were released with court dates and their vehicles will be impounded for 30 days.

In a third incident, on Monday at about 4 a.m., police spotted a car driving the wrong way on another one-way street and pulled it over on Fitzroy Street.

The driver, a 38-year-old Summerside man was issued an administrative driving prohibition after a roadside test. He was also charged with driving with a suspended license and failing to produce insurance upon request for a police officer. His vehicle was also impounded.
